Canada Post Strike – Your Online Orders
The strike by Canada Post workers that began Friday, November 15 will not affect our online ordering system.
We have already moved away from using the national mail service for most domestic deliveries. We have a suite of other courier services to rely on. These include UPS, FedEx, Canpar, and even Purolator.
We won’t charge you more for shipping than what the Canada Post rate matrix auto-calculates at the end of the ordering process.
In fact, we’re finding that in some cases the shipping calculated by Canada Post’s matrix is sometimes higher than the actual cost. We refund the difference to our customers in cases where the matrix is substantially out of whack.
To address the shipping fee errors, we are exploring changing the shipping matrix we use altogether. A combination of flat-rate shipping and perhaps free shipping for orders over a certain benchmark are being looked at. We also want to be able to include US destinations. We’re increasingly seeing orders from our customers to the south. (As a Canadian Food Inspection Agency licensed food processor we can export both interprovincialy and internationally.)
So, be confident that when ordering from us online you will continue to get your parcels in timely and cost-effective manner.
